I'm always looking for something new to put on my ridgeline. One of those things happened to consist of a 50" light bar. The only way I could mount such a thing would be on the roof. That meant I would have fabricate a mount or find a way to modify a roof rack. Thankfully, I stumbled upon these lovely mounts. The mounts themselves seem sturdy and the powder coated finish seems durable. Installation was simple enough, however, instructions or suggestions for mounting would be helpful. Mounting hardware was minimal. I suggest placing rubber washers between the mount and the roof rack bolts. I also placed 3M GHB (industrial strength double sided tape at the front of the mount base for added stability. It is also important to note how the light bar itself will mount. The hardware that came with my light bar would not work with these mounts because the screws were too small and the holes for the bar were too big. This was easily remedied with a preemptive trip to a hardware store where i bought a variety of washers, longer bolts, and rubber spacers. Once locktited and tightened the light bar was mounted. The mounts themselves gave the light bar a low profile allowing it sit just below the upper lip of the windsheild. I suggest placing foam between the middle of the roof and the light bar as it reduces vibration and helps to reduce some of the strain on the mounts for added stability. The mounts have held thus far and survived a 350 mile trip up to Vermont. I cannot attest to the long term durability, but I am very content with the product up to this point. Steve is great to work with and will try to accommodate your needs.
